似ているので使い分けが難しい"another"と"some other"。今回はこの二つを分析していきましょう。

注意："the other"と勘違いしない事が重要です。英語を習う時はセットで物事を覚えるのが大切です。"上"を学んだら、"下"も学ぶ。"左"を学んだら、"右"も学ぶ。同時に覚えて反対の意味だと理解するのが大切です。"the other"は"one or the other"とセットになります。詳しくは One or the other のページを読んでください。

まずは意味から見ていきましょう。

Another → もう一つ　（覚えるコツは：an apple, an elephant, an idol, an owl,　全部一つと言う意味なので"Another"も一緒だと考えましょう。
Some other →　他の　（複数）

EXAMPLES

Situation: Friends are talking　
A: Is everyone here?　→ 皆んないる？
B1: I think another person is coming.　→　もう一人来ると思う。
B2: I think some other people are coming.　→　あと数人来ると思う。

Situation: Mother and son are talking　
S: Can I have another chocoalte bar?　→　もう一つチョコレート食べていい？
M: No you've already had two!　→　すでに二つ食べているでしょ！

Situation: Friends are talking　
A: This computer is so old, I think I'm going to buy another one.　→ このパソコンすごく古いから新しいの買おうかな。。。
B: Do you have enough money to buy another one?　→　もう一つ買うお金あるの？

Situation: Shopping
C: Excuse me, do you sell the iPhone 10?　→　すみません, iPhone 10 売っていますか？
S: I'm sorry we don't have any at this store, but some of our other stores have it. →　すみません、この店では置いてないんですけど、他の支店にはありますよ。

このように使い分け方は数によります。
